You must know by now that Micky Star is no longer a stay and play centre and has been converted to a nursery primarily for families who receive funding for 2-year olds, thus taking away a vital and much needed space from local families with young children and babies who do not qualify for such funding.
They will be running a single stay and play session every week from the Autumn, in addition to the usual baby clinic -
Obviously this is better than nothing but it is still rather poor. Micky's was one of the few child-friendly outdoor play spaces, which can no longer be accessed by the majority of children in the area. Most of us would have happily paid a few pounds to access the facilities and activities at Mickys if this was a funding issue. One 2-hour session per week really does not make up for the loss.
