As you may know, the site on Moxon Street where the weekly Farmers Market is held will be developed over the next few years. An exhibition of the plans and a consultation process is happening over the next week at the Durrants Hotel on George St. Details can be found at the Marylebone Association website here.
It will be a shame to lose this great space for the market but apparently the plans do include provision for hosting the market nearby. I hope there is some community space - Marylebone needs much more, as it would be great to hold mother & baby groups, coffee mornings etc here somewhere where there is also space for kids to run around (unlike in cafes and restaurants). Please do go along and take a look, and comment. I hope its not just more over-priced flats that will lay vacant and that the plans are sympathetic to the village feel of Marylebone and the surrounding area. Also… do sign up to the Marylebone Associaton newsletter, or even join the organisation. Its a great way to keep up with events in the area and learn about developments here.
