Even after living in the area for a long time, Marylebone continues to surprise me with long-established yet hidden gems.
Next to Marylebone Station is The College of Osteopaths. Osteopathy is a complementary therapy focussed on the musculoskeletal system. I know a lot of parents and carers often suffer from pains due to carrying little (and not-so-little) ones which can affect the back, neck, posture etc and also mums might be still suffering some of the longer-lasting effects of pregnancy and childbirth. Osteopathy has helped many people suffering from such ailments as well as border issues such as headaches, general back pain (a common profile if you have a sedentary job), frozen shoulder and tennis elbow amongst other things.
The real gem at this college is the Training Clinic on site which provides osteopathic treatment at reduced rates. The treatment is carried out by senior students supervised by registered osteopaths for a much reduced price (currently £25/appt as of writing).
The College has sent me over a few copies of their brochure which I have taken a couple of pictures of or I can post one out to anyone interested. You can find out more information at www.collegeofosteopaths.ac.uk, or call 020 7723 6478. The College is located at The OAC, 8-10 Boston Place, London NW1 6QH
