Parents around the area have been disappointed to hear that Beginnings Early Childhood Centre, the day nursery on Seymour Place, is to close. The nursery has been one of the few day nurseries in the Marylebone area catering to full-time working parents and this sudden announcement has taken everyone by surprise. Many parents are finding themselves in a situation where they are scrambling to find alternative childcare in a few months.
There are a few alternatives that spring to mind. The Merchant Square Day Nursery is a new nursery just off Edgware Rd and Praed Street. Details can be found on our Nurseries page here The Hyde Park Nursery, and its sister nursery the Marylebone Village Nursery have also been in touch with the following message: "We hear a few mums are in a panic over the latest news of closure of the Beginnings. As a mum who this has happened to before I know what this feels like a tailspin... however I have a newly opened nursery school on Craven terrace in Hyde park are that can offer parents full day support and marylebone village nursery school has a few day spots available." (for those who do not know, the Marylebone Village Nursery shut down a few years ago, leaving parents in the lurch including Frances, who went on to purchase and re-open the nursery) Details about the nurseries are below, though you may be aware that Marylebone Village is only a short day but the Hyde Park nursery is a full day nursery.

Whatever the reason will be, I am just sad to know that Beginnings Early Childhood Centre has closed already. Many parents were shocked too since we all know that the center is performing well. I ma just too sad because it has been the second home of lots of children for the past years and parents are now clueless in regards with where they can send their children for studies! But I am sure they will find one for there are hundreds of centers within the are where they can send the children.
