Welcome new mums, experienced mums, Londoners and Expat mums!

In 2013 as a new mum, and recent Marylebone resident, I was excited to start taking part in all the local baby and child friendly activities I expected to find in this "family-friendly" part of Central London. Having lived in Bayswater, Lancaster Gate and now Marylebone over many years, I had seen that this is a part of London that is popular with families. When my little one arrived, I thought that we would be hopping from activity to activity in Marylebone but in fact I have found that the area from Bayswater to Marylebone is seriously lacking in activities! The nearby areas of St Johns Wood, Maida Vale and Notting Hill are teeming with things to do, but if you don't want to be beholden to the London Buses or pay ridiculous parking charges, you are a bit stuck.

I gradually realised that there is no central point of information for mums in Marylebone, and that many of the basic activities I expected to find in the area (like Monkey Music, Tumble Tots) all happen at least a bus ride away in areas such as Notting Hill, Swiss Cottage and St Johns Wood. The amount of time I spent discovering this, and also trying to find out what activities are available closer to home was not insignificant, so I am starting this website so that families in the area can share information and encourage mums in Marylebone and the surrounding areas to come together.

Over the last months I have spent countless hours looking for activities in the area and have found information so I am hoping to collate it here to help new mums and those moving to the area, I will sometimes add my thoughts and experiences, but feel free to disregard them as the witterings of a sleep-deprived mummy.

I also hope that over time it may encourage some enterprising people to start up some more activities in the area as you can't walk down the street around here without spotting at least one pram, yet we still have to traipse to surrounding areas to find any decent activities round here!

Please do get in touch through the Contact Us page with any activities you know of, or want to publicise, and also any suggestions for places that are particularly easy for families to access (as well as those who may be less friendly to families too!). If you are thinking of moving to Marylebone, Lancaster Gate or any of the surrounding areas, please do get in touch via the contact page!
